About this EOI
In 2026, City of Parramatta will program two projects based on EOI submissions and curatorial programming. Please review the EOIs for details on scope and selection criteria.
There are a range of opportunities for our 2026 festival with two different EOIs, including:
- Parramatta Square - Major Artwork
- Epping - Community Lead Artwork
- High-Pole Lion Dancing: They balanced 3-metres in the air!
- Wishing Tree sponsored by Optus: Wishes were tied to the Wishing Tree at PHIVE to manifest good luck and fortune for the new year.
- Ngurra Gunya Stage sponsored by Optus: There was cultural entertainment including a Dragon Dance Performance, and K-pop dance workshops held at Parramatta Town Hall.
- Cultural Workshops at PHIVE & Parramatta Square: Attendees enjoyed Chinese Horoscope Readings, Mahjong Games, the Comic Workshop with Annie Huang, Children’s Storytime and Craft Workshop with Myo Yim presented by the Korean Cultural Centre, and Chinese Calligraphy station with by Frank Xu.
- Laundry-Line by Chris Yee: A 20-metre-long feature artwork, an experimentation with traditional Chinese textiles presented through bold and colourful hanging flags and ornamental lanterns from Western Sydney artist, Chris Yee. The centrepiece at Parramatta Square, ‘Laundry-Line’ represents Asian-Australian communities and a ‘third culture’ shaped by traditional family culture and a suburban childhood.
