Join award-winning artist Cameron Stead for a foundational watercolour painting course at PHIVE Parramatta, perfect for beginners and artists looking to diversify their creative repertoire. Over eight weeks, we will learn the basics of watercolour painting, including colour mixing and paint application, and begin to develop skills in observation, composition and artistic expression. Working from images and life, we will create a range of different artworks in a supportive and playful environment. All materials are provided (though you are welcome to bring your own).

Suitable for ages 18+

Please note:

You are welcome to join this class if you have attended previously, but some of the lessons/activities provided may be similar to those offered in the past.
The Tuesday and Thursday classes are not interchangeable. If you are unable to attend class for one or more weeks you are not permitted to attend the Tuesday class, as it is designed for participants with an advanced skill level and generally runs at capacity.

$85 workshop fee covers all 8 classes. Individual classes are not available.

Tickets for the Tuesday Next Steps Course and Thursday Foundations Course are not transferable. Your ticket fee only grants you access to the Foundations Course.

About Cameron:

Cameron Stead is an interdisciplinary artist based on Gadigal Country. Stead’s practice spans painting, performance, installation and fibre art, and uses colour and materiality in a broad range of processes to investigate ideas of the self in public and private spaces, as well as dualities of the lived experience. Stead is the 2017 winner of the Kilgour Prize and a 2020-21 Waverly Studios Artist in Residence

PHIVE sits on the lands and waters of the Burramattagal people of the Dharug nation and we acknowledge Burramatta as significant place of ceremony, story and tradition.
