January Amulet-Making Workshop with Marian Abboud

Join artist Marian Abboud for a free amulet-making workshop that explores Lebanese mourning and protection rituals. Participants will create small objects using materials such as turquoise, quartz, amber, spices, and incense – each carrying cultural meaning linked to memory, strength, and care. While making, participants are invited to share stories and reflect on traditions that connect families across generations and places.

Each amulet will become part of a growing installation surrounding Marian’s late father’s car, transforming personal rituals into a collective artwork that honours resilience and connection. This installation will be shown at White Bay Power Station in March 2026 as part of the 25th Biennale of Sydney, Rememory.
