Amulet Making Workshops
Join artist Marian Abboud for a series of creative workshops that explore Lebanese mourning and protection rituals through the making of amulets. These sessions invite participants to create small objects using materials such as turquoise, quartz, amber, spices, and incense—each carrying cultural meaning linked to memory, strength, and care. While making, participants will share stories and reflect on traditions that connect families across generations and places.
Each amulet will become part of a growing installation surrounding Marian’s late father’s car, transforming personal rituals into a collective artwork that honours resilience and connection. This installation will be shown at White Bay Power Station as part of the 25th Biennale of Sydney, Rememory.
The first workshop will take place at PAS Granville on Friday Jan 30 at 4-7pm, all are welcome.
