Farewell 2024 at Parramatta’s ultimate end-of-year celebration in the stunning grounds of the World Heritage listed Parramatta Park.  

Catch the ultimate concert at The Crescent Stage*, enjoy a host of family-friendly activities and entertainment in the Family Zone and watch the skyline sparkle with the firework display visible at all event sites. There’s something to suit the whole family!

*The Crescent Stage will have strictly limited capacity managed by wristbands. Please see below. 

Wristband Information

The Crescent Stage will have limited capacity managed by wristbands. Wristbands will be available from 1pm Tuesday 31 December and can be collected from The Crescent ticketing booth. 

  • Wristbands are strictly limited and distributed on a first-come-first-served basis.
  • There is no charge for wristbands or entry.  
  • A maximum of 5 wristbands can be collected per person.
  • Children aged 18 months and older must also wear a wristband for entry.  
  • You will not be able to enter The Crescent site without a wristband.  
  • Pass outs will be available with re-entry via the ticketing booth. 

Fireworks and General Information

What date and time is the event?

Tuesday 31 December 2021, from 5:00pm – 9.30pm.  

What time are the fireworks?

The firework display will start at 9:00pm.  

Where Is the best place to view the fireworks?

You will be able to see the fireworks from ALL New Year’s Eve event sites. Otherwise, if you live nearby, you may be able to view the fireworks from the comfort of your own home! 

Is the event free?

Yes, this event is free! The Crescent Stage will have strictly limited capacity and will require wristbands for entry. See below.

Amusement rides are not free. Tickets for rides can be purchased at the event. 

What happens in bad weather?

Light/medium rain will not cause cancellation of the New Year’s Eve events. As public safety is one of our priorities, adverse weather forecasts of lightning storms, torrential rain and/or strong winds may result in event cancellation.  

Strong wind may result in cancellation of the fireworks display. 

Food & Drink

Is there food on site?

Yes, there will be an offering of food trucks on site with a mixture of sweet, savoury and everything in between! We also recommend bringing a picnic rug to make a comfortable space for yourself on the grass.  

30 food trucks will serve delicious food options to satisfy the whole family.

Is there a bar on site?

Yes, Kombi Keg Bar on Coronation Hill is our licensed area. You must carry valid ID to enter.  

Can I bring my own food and drinks?

Yes, you are allowed to bring your own food from home. We recommend bringing a picnic basket and/or Esky, with low foldable festival chairs or a picnic rug to make a comfortable space for yourself on the grass. Cooking equipment, such as camping gas burners, are not permitted on site. 

Can I bring alcohol (BYO)?

Alcohol is permitted in small amounts for people over 18. Security may ask to inspect your bags and check ID if you are bringing alcohol into the event. Liquor brought into the park will be strictly restricted to 1 litre with a 14% maximum alcohol or 6x Beers/Ciders (5%) per person. No glass will be permitted into the park. 

Where can I refill my water bottle?

Free drinking water taps are located throughout the park such as The Crescent and Monuments. Bring your own bottles and refill through the evening! 

Getting here and Public Transport

Parramatta Park is an easy walk from train stations and multi-level carparks. Parramatta Park will be closed to all vehicles from TBC on Tuesday 31 December 2023. There will be no parking inside the Park and a number external parking spaces around the Park will not be available due to event operations.

It is strongly recommended taking public transport to the event. There may be significant traffic delays in the City around the Park due to road closures.

The Park is wheelchair accessible.

By Train

Westmead Station is a quick 5-minute walk via Railway Avenue and Parramatta Station is a short 12-minute walk to Parramatta Park.

Parramatta Station has rail links to most major suburban centres in Sydney and the Blue Mountains with a travel distance of just 30-minutes from Sydney CBD.

There are plenty of additional services operating on the Sydney Trains and NSW TrainLink networks. 

By Bus

Parramatta is well served by buses to the interchange on Argyle Street, near Parramatta Station. Bus routes connect Parramatta with other Sydney destinations such as Castle Hill, Hornsby, Ryde, Strathfield and Sydney CBD. See www.transportnsw.info to plan your trip by public transport.

NB: routes may be changed due to road closures. 

Accessibility

Accessible Parking

A small number of accessible parking spaces are provided in the parking lot at the corner of Park Avenue and Railway Avenue for your convenience during specific hours.

From 4pm to 8:00pm for arrival and departure. Departures can commence from 9:45 pm with an accessibility buggy to assist attendees to and from the site.

To accommodate the significant number of attendees during the fireworks display, all vehicles must be in the designated car park by 8:00pm. This ensures participation in the final buggy to the event site before 8:15pm. Return buggy services will commence from approximately 9:45 pm. Please be advised that the return buggy to the car park will only be possible once crowds have dispersed. 

Access Instructions

To secure access to these parking facilities, prior registration is absolutely mandatory. Please send an email to events@cityofparramatta.nsw.gov.au with the following details:

  • Your Name
  • Contact Number
  • Vehicle Registration
  • Accessibility Permit Number
  • Arrival and Departure Times
  • Number of People in Your Group (the buggy can accommodate up to 5 people)

Are there accessible viewing areas?

The Crescent Stage will feature accessible viewing areas.

The first is at the end of the accessible ramp at the top of the Crescent, with accessible restroom nearby, located at Coronation Hill

The second is to the southern side of the stage, with accessible restrooms adjacent to the stage compound.

If you require assistance during the event, please notify event staff.

An accessible buggy will operate along a designated route to assist those with accessibility needs. Stops will be clearly signposted, and the buggy will arrive at each stop approximately every 12-15 minutes. This service will run until 8 pm. 

Are there accessible toilets onsite?

Yes, accessible toilets will be within the event site.  

Can I bring a tent, drone or my dog?

Can I bring a shade tent/dome?

No, shade tents/domes and other similar structures are not permitted at the event. 

Can I bring a drone?

No, you cannot bring a drone.  

Can I bring my dog?

We recommend leaving your furry family member at home, if possible, as there will be fireworks display quite close to the event site. If you live nearby, ensure you have made prior plans for your pets to be safe and secure during our 9.00pm fireworks.

There are no ATMs within the park, however, food stalls will have digital payment options available.
