A city’s identity is written in its streets — come read between the lines.

Celebrate International Women’s Day with a guided walking tour through Parramatta Square, exploring the powerful and often surprising stories of women who have helped shape the city we know today.

From First Nations women whose knowledge and leadership are deeply connected to Country, to community builders, creatives, writers, entrepreneurs and civic leaders, this tour shines a light on women who challenged expectations, opened doors, and left lasting marks on Parramatta’s cultural and civic life.

Guided by PHIVE facilitators, you’ll move through Parramatta Square, PHIVE and surrounding civic spaces, discovering how art, architecture and place hold stories of courage, creativity and change. Expect moments of reflection, unexpected details, and plenty of conversation along the way.

Come curious — leave inspired.

What you’ll experience

  • Stories of First Peoples women and their enduring connection to the land and waters of Burramatta
