Join award-winning artist Cameron Stead for an eight-week watercolour course at PHIVE Parramatta, designed for artists with existing knowledge and experience (including those who have previously participated in watercolour workshops at PHIVE).

In the advanced course we will build upon skills in watercolour mixing and painting techniques, with a focus on colour theory, composition, application and our developing artistic voices. Students have the choice to work with any subject matter throughout the course (for example, still life, landscape, abstraction) and will also be supported in developing a project or series of works of their own choosing, with all materials provided (though you are welcome to bring your own).

Please note:

  • This course is not suitable for beginners as the activities and projects require previous experience with watercolour painting. You are welcome to join the Thursday course, Foundations of Watercolour Painting, if you are looking to learn this artform.
  • The Tuesday and Thursday classes are not interchangeable. If you are unable to attend class for one or more weeks you are not permitted to attend the Thursday class, as it offers different content and generally runs at capacity.

Suitable for ages 18+
