We’ve pulled together the most common questions so you can plan your visit with confidence. From accessibility and transport to food vendors and programming, it’s all here - clear, simple and up to date.
General
No, all areas of Parramatta Lanes are free to attend, though we do have ticketed events throughout our program this year including:

You can purchase food and drinks from stalls and bars on-site.
Parramatta Lanes is held over 20 sites throughout the Parramatta CBD:
Parramatta Lanes will not close unless there is a lightning storm, torrential rain or hail. Light/medium rain will not affect the event.
If conditions make it unsafe and the event is closed, this information will be updated on Council’s social media platforms, website and on-site signage placed around the City.
Yes, everyone is welcome at this event and there will be plenty to keep children entertained. Please note, after 7pm entertainment may include strong language and adult themes.
Yes, dogs are welcome. Please ensure dogs are:
- on a leash
- well-socialised with other dogs and people
- comfortable in noisy and highly crowded environments
- with owners who clean up after them immediately!
Service dogs are welcome.
Accessibility
All sites are accessible. Some routes are easy and some are more challenging. On site directional signage will assist people that need flat, easy paths. There are existing doorways and structures such as Eat Street Car Park - where lift dimensions and ramp gradients affect accessibility.

Getting to Parramatta Lanes
With extensive road closures and parking restrictions in place, public transport is the best way to travel to Parramatta Lanes.
Buses and trains run directly into the Parramatta CBD from throughout Sydney and there is a Light Rail stop at Parramatta Square!

Yes. We encourage you to come to the event by public transport! Please check out www.transportnsw.gov.au for the most up to date information about available services.
Bus
Buses will be operating following the standard timetable. Dismount on Argyle Street or Phillip Street for direct access to event sites.
Train
Trains will be operating as per standard weekday and weekend timetable. For train and bus timetable information please contact Transport Info on 131 500 or visit www.transportnsw.info
With road closures and special event clearways in place in the city each night during the festival, access to parking will be limited and traffic will be heavy. We recommend taking public transport where possible as traffic in the CBD will be affected by road closures and parking removal.

There are parking restrictions on Macquarie, George, and Phillip Streets from 16 – 26 October. Click here to find more information.
Eat Street Car Park will have restricted parking from 17 – 28 October and will be completely closed for parking from 21 – 25 October. Find out more details here.
Parramatta Station Car Park (Wentworth Street) and Justice Precinct Car Park (Hunter Street) are the closest car parks during event days.
From Wednesday 22 October to Saturday 25 October, the Church Street stop will be closed from 5pm until one hour after the event concludes.
During this time:
- Light rail services will run between Carlingford and Parramatta Square only.
- Buses will replace light rail between Parramatta Square and Westmead, bypassing Church Street.

Select City centre roads will be closed from 20 – 26 October. Most road closures will take place in the City centre on event days from 22 – 25 October, traffic delays can be expected.

Sustainability
Yes, there will be existing and temporary water refill stations through our site footprint.
All our stallholders are required to use sustainable and biodegradable serviceware and we restrict the sale of single use plastic at the event.
