Farewell 2024 at Parramatta’s ultimate end-of-year celebration in the stunning grounds of the World Heritage listed Parramatta Park.
Enjoy two stages, The Crescent* and The Paddock, plus a host of family-friendly activities and entertainment in the Cattle Paddock and watch the skyline sparkle with the firework display visible at all event sites. There’s something to suit the whole family!

Wristband Information
The Crescent Stage will have limited capacity managed by wristbands. Wristbands will be available from 1pm Tuesday 31 December and can be collected from The Crescent wristband tent (located outside Old Government House).
- Wristbands are strictly limited and distributed on a first-come-first-served basis.
- There is no charge for wristbands or entry.
- A maximum of 5 wristbands can be collected per person.
- Children 18 months plus must wear a wristband for entry.
- You will not be able to enter The Crescent site without a wristband.
- Pass outs will be available with re-entry via the wristband tent.

Fireworks and General Information
Tuesday 31 December 2021, from 5:00pm – 9.30pm.
Parramatta Park, across four locations:
The firework display will start at 9:00pm.
You will be able to see the fireworks from ALL New Year’s Eve event sites. Otherwise, if you live nearby, you may be able to view the fireworks from the comfort of your own home!
Yes, this event is free! The Crescent Stage will have strictly limited capacity and will require wristbands for entry. See above.
Amusement rides are not free. Tickets for rides can be purchased at the event.
Light/medium rain will not cause cancellation of the New Year’s Eve events. As public safety is one of our priorities, adverse weather forecasts of lightning storms, torrential rain and/or strong winds may result in event cancellation.
Strong wind may result in cancellation of the fireworks display.
Food & Drink
Yes, there will be an offering of food trucks across all sites with a mixture of sweet, savoury and everything in between! We also recommend bringing a picnic rug to make a comfortable space for yourself on the grass.
30 food trucks will serve delicious food options to satisfy the whole family.
Yes, Kombi Keg Bar on Coronation Hill is our licensed area. You must carry valid ID to enter.
Yes, you are allowed to bring your own food from home. We recommend bringing a picnic basket and/or Esky, with low foldable festival chairs or a picnic rug to make a comfortable space for yourself on the grass. Cooking equipment, such as camping gas burners, are not permitted on site.
Alcohol is permitted in small amounts for people over 18. Security may ask to inspect your bags and check ID if you are bringing alcohol into the event. Liquor brought into the park will be strictly restricted to 1 litre with a 14% maximum alcohol or 6x Beers/Ciders (5%) per person. No glass will be permitted into the park.
Free drinking water taps are located throughout the park such as The Crescent and Monuments. Bring your own bottles and refill through the evening!
Getting here and Public Transport
Parramatta Park is an easy walk from train stations and key bus routes. Parramatta Park will be closed to all vehicles from 6am on Tuesday 31 December 2024. There will be no parking inside the Park and a number external parking spaces around the Park will not be available due to event operations.
With thousands of extra transport services, large crowds and road closures the best way to get to and from New Year's Eve celebrations in Parramatta is by public transport. Please visit here to find out more.

Parramatta Light Rail will be running, leave the car at home for a hassle free evening!

Westmead Station is a quick 5-minute walk via Railway Avenue and Parramatta Station is a short 12-minute walk to Parramatta Park.
Parramatta Station has rail links to most major suburban centres in Sydney and the Blue Mountains with a travel distance of just 30-minutes from Sydney CBD.
There are plenty of additional services operating on the Sydney Trains and NSW TrainLink networks.
Parramatta is well served by buses to the interchange on Argyle Street, near Parramatta Station. Bus routes connect Parramatta with other Sydney destinations such as Castle Hill, Hornsby, Ryde, Strathfield and Sydney CBD. See www.transportnsw.info to plan your trip by public transport.
NB: routes may be changed due to road closures.
If Light Rail is operating by the event there are stations at both Westmead and Prince Alfred Square, both within a 12- minute walk to the Park.
Accessibility
A small number of accessible parking spaces are provided in the West Domain parking lot at the corner of Park Avenue and Railway Avenue. These parking spaces must be prebooked as per the below process and will be available from 4:00pm – 7:00pm.
There are two accessible buggy routes around the Park with regular pick ups from West Domain Parking lot from 4.00pm. Download the New Year’s Eve 2024 Buggy Route
Buggies will cease operation between 8.45pm – 9.45pm due to the heavy pedestrian presence in the Park. Departures will recommence from 9:45 pm with closures in the area lifting to allow vehicles to exit the carpark at 10pm.
To accommodate the significant number of attendees during the fireworks display, all vehicles must be in the designated car park by 8:00 pm
To secure access to these parking facilities, prior registration is absolutely mandatory. Please send an email to events@cityofparramatta.nsw.gov.au with the following details:

- Arrival and Departure Times
- Number of People in Your Group (the buggy can accommodate up to 5 people)
For additional information or to complete your registration, do not hesitate to contact us.
There will be Accessible Viewing areas in The Crescent (top and bottom of the hill) and The Paddock stage along with the Coronation Hill site.
The accessible buggies will drop any of these viewing areas as well as a number of stops around the Park. Please check the event map for more detail on the accessible buggy routes and viewing area locations. Stops will be clearly signposted, and the buggies will arrive at each stop approximately every 12-15 minutes. This service will cease between 8.45pm and 9.45pm.

Yes, accessible toilets will be within the event site.
We're excited to announce that Auslan interpretation will be available at both The Crescent and Paddock stages, ensuring that our event is accessible and inclusive for everyone. We look forward to having you join us and enjoy the performances!
Can I bring a tent, drone or my dog?
No, shade tents/domes and other similar structures are not permitted at the event.
No, you cannot bring or fly a drone in the event space.
We recommend leaving your furry family member at home, if possible, as there will be fireworks display quite close to the event site. If you live nearby, ensure you have made prior plans for your pets to be safe and secure during our 9.00pm fireworks.
Event Site
There are no ATMs within the park, however, food stalls will have digital payment options available.

Please see event map for First Aid tent locations, there will also be roving medics at the event.
Road Closures and Delays
A number of road closures will be actioned around Parramatta Park, while a large number of parking spaces around the park will not be available, due to event operations. There will be significant traffic delays in the area and we highly recommend you take public transport to the event.
There will be no vehicle access into Parramatta Park on Sunday 31 December.
There will be a number of parking restrictions in place around Parramatta on Tuesday 31st December.

- Railway Pde between Park Ave and Westmead Station
- Queens Rd between Park Ave and Hawkesbury Rd
- Pitt St between Macquarie St and Park Ave.

The Parramatta River cycle way between O’Connell Street Bridge and the Parramatta Park weir will be closed from 6am on event day.
