Where is the event located? And what time?

Location

Address: Boronia Park, 37 Bridge Street, Epping NSW 2121

The majority of the event will take place in the Sports Field area within Boronia Park. The main entrance to the Sports Field is on the northern side of the field. You can also access the event via Rawson Street and Bridge Street in Epping. 

Event time

Time: Saturday 21 February 2026 4-9pm. 

What is happening at the event?

This family-friendly event celebrates Lunar New Year traditions and customs symbolising good luck and prosperity for the year ahead. Celebrate Year of the Horse with high-pole lion dancers, cultural food demonstrations by celebrity chefs, and hands-on workshops for all ages.   

Is the event free?

Yes, entry is completely free. No tickets are required for entry. 

What happens if it rains?

Lunar New Year celebrations will proceed if it is raining. 

If conditions make it unsafe and the event is cancelled, this information will be updated on Council’s social media platforms and website. 

Will there be first aid?

Yes. There will be first aid on site. 

Will there be fireworks?

There will not be a fireworks display at this event. However, there will be firecrackers and pyrotechnics display as part of the celebrations.  

Will there be public toilets nearby?

Toilets will be available throughout the event site.  

Can I bring my dog?

Boronia Park is a public space, but due to large crowds and loud music, we recommend leaving pets at home for their comfort and safety.   

Accessibility

Is the event accessible?

Yes, there will be areas of this event that are accessible.   

Accessible Parking

Accessible parking spots are available in the Rawson Street Car Park and Coles Car Park off Rawson Street in Epping. 

Are there accessible toilets?

There are accessible toilets located within Boronia Park and at the adjacent Boronia Grove Community Centre. 

Food & Drink

Is there food on site?

Yes, there will be a number of food vendors attending the event. 

Is there free drinking water?

Yes, free refill stations are available throughout the park. Bring your own bottles and refill through the evening. 

Can I bring alcohol to the event?

No. The public domain is an alcohol-free zone. 

Getting Here and Public Transport

The best way to get to and from Lunar New Year celebrations in Boronia Park is by public transport.

The closest train station to the event is Epping. Trains will be operating as per standard weekend timetables.

Parking

Limited parking will be available on neighbouring streets and will be subject to signposted regulations.  

Car parks are subject to availability, the closest being:

  • Rawson Street Car Park
  • Coles Car Park off Rawson Street
