Founded by Cheyanne Carter, a passionate early childhood professional who’s been in the sector since 2011, Divergent Education draws on real experience and deep insight.
Chey has worked across the country in education, management and consultancy roles, and is known for helping centres exceed expectations by achieving top-tier national ratings. Her mission? To take on the everyday challenges centres face, from high staff turnover to compliance fatigue, and turn them into opportunities for growth.
“Childcare is a major infrastructure for the workforce. If I can support that workforce through the work that I can do, it’s going to sustain what Parramatta’s building and what the vision for Western Sydney will be,” Carter adds.
At Divergent Education, every solution is tailored. Whether it’s building stronger teams, boosting engagement or elevating learning outcomes, Chey brings practical, grounded strategies that actually work.
Her approach is all about creating environments where children, educators and families feel empowered, supported and inspired to thrive.
“Everyone wants to help. Everyone wants to share what they’re doing or offer advice or offer networks. It’s more community-based, which really kind of removes that barrier of fear when interacting with new business people or being in a new environment,” Carter explains.
Divergent Education is based at the Western Sydney Startup Hub powered by SpaceCubed, an incubator supporting early-stage businesses with resources, mentorship and community.
“The Accelerator program from SpaceCubed really just gave me clear direction. For people who are nervous to take that first leap, who have really brilliant ideas that can help people, it just removes that barrier and makes it more realistic,” she says.
