This major outdoor festival held in Parramatta Park on Saturday 12 July is a must-attend event for families looking to experience First Nations music, food, dance, and traditions. Highlights include:
- Live Music – Head to the Next Generation Music Stage sponsored by Optus and Kari where some of the most exciting First Nations artists are set to take the spotlight such as RnB powerhouse Becca Hatch, psychedelic groovers Velvet Trip and soulful Kee’ahn.
- Market Stalls – You will love browsing the stalls with jewellery, clothing and art to find something special to take home.
- Interactive Workshops - Learn directly from talented artists and cultural practitioners in traditional art, dance, and weaving.
- AFL Skill Zone – Kids of all ages can join the fun by testing their kicking and handball skills at the AFL Skill Zone Inflatable or try out the Vertical Jump Test.

Discover First Nations Stories on the Big Screen at Riverside Theatres
Taking children to see films is a powerful way to introduce them to First Nations storytelling, helping them understand diverse cultures, histories, and perspectives.
“Like My Brother” screening on Saturday 12 July 2025 at 3pm is a coming-of-age story following four Tiwi girls on their journey to becoming stars of Aussie Rules football. This is a story of sport as a force for change and a bridge between worlds.

Explore First Nations Art in Parramatta
Take a walk through the heart of Parramatta and find amazing outdoor artworks, reflecting the deep cultural heritage and storytelling traditions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
- Discover the Yilabara Path Laneway mural, designed by Leanne Watson Redpath, Tina Barahanos and Alexandra Byrne, next to the Parramatta River Foreshore. The pedestrian and cyclist thoroughfare features a glow-in-the-dark ground mural.
- Visit "Where Eels Lie Down" in Parramatta Square, a public artwork created by Kamilaroi artist, Reko Rennie, honouring the significance of the eel in Parramatta. The 7.5-metre-tall sculpture depicts two eels rising from the ground and crossing each other as they play.
- Parramatta also features "Place of the Eels" by Claire Healy and Sean Cordeiro, an eight-metre-tall aluminium replica of a vintage bus, encapsulating moments from the city's history including First Nations stories.

Experience Koori Kinnections Aboriginal Cultural Walk
Take a guided journey through history with the Koori Kinnections Aboriginal Cultural Walk. Led by knowledgeable Indigenous presenters, this free 90-minute experience brings Aboriginal customs, tools, and food sources to life. Families can learn about bush tucker, hear stories of the land, and gain a deeper appreciation for First Nations heritage.
