To celebrate Parramatta's local Dharug community, join us for Burramatta NAIDOC.
Every July communities across Australia come together for National NAIDOC Week, a time to honour the rich history, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
This year marks 50 years of NAIDOC Week and the theme, "The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy," highlights both the remarkable achievements of the past and the bright future ahead.
To celebrate Parramatta’s local Dharug community, join us in Parramatta Park on Saturday 12 July 2025 for Burramatta NAIDOC, a free outdoor festival with an incredible concert line up, market and food stalls, and cultural workshops.
Here are 5 things you can’t miss at Burramatta NAIDOC.
1. Next Generation Music Stage headlined by Becca Hatch, Velvet Trip and Kee’ahn
Head to the Next Generation Music Stage where some of the most exciting First Nations artists are set to take the spotlight.
- RnB powerhouse Becca Hatch has been making waves since winning Triple J’s Unearthed High Indigenous Initiative at just 16. With roots in both Samoan and Kamilaroi cultures, Becca’s music blends RnB and dance elements with effortless charm.
- Led by Wiradjuri artist Zeppelin Hamilton, Velvet Trip delivers psychedelic grooves that have left audiences spellbound at Byron Bay Bluesfest, Lost Paradise, and more. Their ARIA-charting debut album “Harmony Blooms” showcases their unique fusion of psych rock and blues.
- Drawing inspiration from Lauryn Hill, Lianne La Havas, and Janelle Monae, Naarm-based artist Kee’ahn has quickly become a force in Australian music with their soulful voice. Their debut single "Better Things" won the Archie Roach Foundation Award, while collaborations with Emma Donovan, Dallas Woods, and Alice Ivy have solidified their presence.
The Next Generation Music Stage is proudly supported by Optus and Kari.
2. Market Stalls and Food
Stroll through the colourful market stalls and support First Nations artists and artisans, with a beautiful selection of handcrafted jewellery, artworks, textiles, and clothing. Whether you're looking for one-of-a-kind gifts or something special to take home, every piece tells a story.
