PHIVE SHP: STEAM Day - The Living World (Ages 5-8)

Calling all little scientists! PHIVE transforms into a living laboratory for this full-day STEAM program combining interactive science shows, hands-on workshops, and fun take home activities. Children will be introduced to a variety of age-appropriate scientific concepts and experiments in the safe hands of the experienced team at Fizzics Education. Includes snack and lunch breaks — the ideal drop-off for school holiday programs for curious kids.

What to expect:

• Curious Kids - interactive science show followed by an introduction to the many hands-on experiments children can explore themselves. Discover how we see colours and light, investigate how sound is made, play with physics forces, gravity and energy.
• Digging Dinosaurs  - a look at ancient organisms, their traces, relationships and extinction theories. Come face-to-face with replica Velociraptor & T-Rex skulls, find out how fossils are formed, discover megafauna and make your own ancient creature casts to keep!
• Little Life - Hands-on biology investigating the complexity of life and our natural world. Identify and group Mini-beasts, learn plant and animal ecological relationships, discover camouflage and animal survival techniques and more.
• Human Body: 5 Senses - How does your brain know what's happening in the world? Explore the complexities of the human body and investigate how our sense organs collect data and how the brain responds. Children will gain a deep appreciation for the mechanics of sight, hearing, taste, smell and touch.

• Parents and carers may sign their children in from 9am and must pick them up and sign out by 3:45pm.
