PHIVE Presents: Dairy and Rangers Cottages Heritage Tour
Discover the stories that shaped Parramatta on this guided heritage walk through the heart of Parramatta Park, leading to one of Australia's oldest surviving colonial sites.
Beginning at PHIVE, you'll journey through the landscapes of Parramatta Park, a place rich with layers of Aboriginal, colonial and civic history. Along the way, your guide will share stories of the Burramattagal clan of the Dharug Nation, the establishment of Parramatta as one of Australia's earliest settlements, and the significant landmarks that have helped shape the city we know today.
Wander through the heritage-listed parklands, follow pathways once travelled by governors, convicts and settlers, and gain a deeper understanding of Parramatta's role in the development of New South Wales. As you explore, you'll uncover fascinating stories hidden within one of Australia's most important cultural landscapes.
The tour concludes at the historic Dairy Precinct, home to the Dairy Cottage and Rangers Cottage. Located within a UNESCO World Heritage-listed convict site, the Dairy Cottage is one of the oldest intact cottages still standing in Australia. Step inside this remarkable building and discover original architectural features, hear stories of the people who lived and worked here, and learn about the precinct's significance to Australia's early colonial history.
This unique experience combines the natural beauty of Parramatta Park with exclusive access to one of the country's most significant heritage sites.
