Midwinter Artwork Competition

Create a work of art inspired by space and see it shine in Parramatta Square this winter.

Entries close 5pm on Wednesday 3 June.

Calling all young artists! As part of Midwinter Festival 2026, we’re inviting children to take part in our Midwinter Art Competition - a creative opportunity to see their artwork brought to life in the heart of Parramatta.

Inspired by Artemis II’s recent journey to the moon, children are encouraged to explore themes of space, stars and discovery. Think planets, galaxies, astronauts and what lies beyond our night sky. Let their imaginations soar into the atmosphere!

Six winning artworks will be transformed into large-scale illuminated art displays and showcased in Parramatta Square during Midwinter Festival, from 4 – 18 July.

Competition runs from Wednesday 20 May – 5pm on Wednesday 3 June 2026.
