The Crescent transforms into a vibrant hub of creativity and family-friendly entertainment:

  • Christmas Craft Workshops: Get hands-on with various festive activities for kids and families.
  • GSP Education Santa’s Workshop Nature Craft: Nature-inspired Christmas crafting with an educational twist.
  • Roving Performers: Enjoy spontaneous entertainment and festive characters throughout the afternoon.
  • Nativity Scene: A peaceful moment to reflect and enjoy the traditional story of Christmas.

  • Amusement Rides: Thrills and fun for all ages.
  • Free Petting Zoo: Meet baby lambs, ducklings, rabbits, chicks, goats, and more. Open until 6pm.
  • Free Face Painting: Add sparkle to your celebration with colourful Christmas designs.
  • Community Busking: Enjoy live performances from emerging local artists throughout the afternoon.
  • Family Picnic Zone: Another great spot to relax and enjoy the evening with family and friends.

Discover a vibrant mix of local creativity works from Western Sydney makers and small businesses.

Browse stalls filled with handmade jewellery, origami art, bespoke ceramics, illustrations, natural skincare and festive accessories. 

Vibrant fireworks explode against a night sky, displaying bursts of red and white. Silhouetted trees provide a peaceful contrast to the lively scene.

Fireworks Finale

End the night with a bang! Look to the skies for a dazzling fireworks display that will light up Parramatta Park and bring the festive celebration to a spectacular close.

Food trucks will be serving up a mix of cuisines including Japanese, Filipino, Turkish, Italian, Balkan, Middle Eastern, and classic Aussie favourites. 

From dumplings and pizza to fairy floss and fresh lemonade, there’s something for every appetite.

Bring Your Own Picnic

You're welcome to bring your own picnic basket and drinks, just remember, no cooking equipment like gas burners is allowed. 

Free water refill stations are available throughout the Parramatta Park. Bring your own bottles and stay hydrated!

Where is the event being held?

Our 2025 Carols event will take place in Parramatta Park. The main stage will be located in The Crescent with additional activities and food offerings available at Monuments. 

When is the event?

Carols in Parramatta Park is on Saturday 13 December with activities kicking off from 3pm. The major performances commence from 4:30pm in The Crescent followed by fireworks at the end of the night (around 9.30pm).

Is the event free?

Yes! This is a FREE event for the community to come along to and get into the festive spirit. 

What happens if it is raining or bad weather?

The event will proceed in mild wet weather, although will be postponed in dangerous weather conditions. Stay updated on the event via our AT Parramatta Instagram and Facebook pages.

Will there be first aid?

Yes, there will be first aid on site. If you require assistance, please speak to staff at the information stall.

Is the event accessible/wheelchair friendly?

Carols in Parramatta Park will take place in parkland with primarily grassed areas with gravel access paths throughout. Accessible toilets are available.

Can I bring my dog?

We recommend leaving your furry family member at home, if possible, as there will be fireworks display quite close to the event site. If you live nearby, ensure you have made prior plans for your pets to be safe and secure during our 9.25pm fireworks. 

 

Travel and Transport 

Can I park in Parramatta Park?

Parramatta Park will be closed to vehicles from 2pm on Saturday 13 December.

It is strongly recommended taking public transport to the event. There may be significant traffic delays in the City around the Park due to road closures.

How do I get there by train?

Westmead Station is a quick 5-minute walk via Railway Avenue and Parramatta Station is a short 12-minute walk to Parramatta Park.

Parramatta Station has rail links to most major suburban centres in Sydney and the Blue Mountains with a travel distance of just 30-minutes from Sydney CBD.

There are plenty of additional services operating on the Sydney Trains and NSW TrainLink networks.

How do I get there via bus?

Parramatta is well served by buses to the interchange on Argyle Street, near Parramatta Station. Bus routes connect Parramatta with other Sydney destinations such as Castle Hill, Hornsby, Ryde, Strathfield and Sydney CBD. See www.transportnsw.info to plan your trip by public transport. Please note some routes may be changed due to road closures.

Food and Drinks

Will there be food trucks?

Yes, there will be an offering of food trucks on site with a mixture of sweet, savoury and everything in between! We also recommend bringing a picnic rug to make a comfortable space for yourself on the grass. 

Can I bring my own food and drinks?

Yes, you are allowed to bring your own food from home. We recommend bringing a picnic basket and/or Esky, with low foldable festival chairs or a picnic rug to make a comfortable space for yourself on the grass. Cooking equipment, such as camping gas burners, are not permitted on site.

Where can I refill my water bottle?

Free drinking water taps are located throughout the park such as The Crescent and Monuments. Bring your own bottles and refill through the evening!

Can I bring a shade tent/dome?

No, shade tents/domes and other similar structures are not permitted at the event.

Can I bring a drone?

No, you cannot bring a drone.
