Best of the West – Battle of the Bands Terms & Conditions

Terms and conditions:

1. Artists cannot be signed to a management, record or publishing deal.
2. Artists must currently attend a high school in Sydney’s Western Suburbs and be between the ages of 12 and 19.
3. Once all the links of tracks have been sent in, a panel of judges from the City of Parramatta will select the 6 finalists to perform at Best of the West in Parramatta Square.
4. Winner will be awarded on the day by a panel of music industry judges. The winner will then receive the following prizes:
   • Recording time with a Western Sydney producer.
   • A tracked played on FBI radio
   • Performance at Parramatta Lanes 2024
5. Second place will also get to perform at Parramatta Lanes 2024.
6. Artists must be available to play at the event on Friday 21 June 2024 at Parramatta Square from 2-6pm.
7. All artists competing in the event on must at the live music stage by 1pm on Friday 21 June for the line-up, program overview and band briefing. If you miss the event, you will be disqualified.
8. A basic stage set up is provided on the day. Audio equipment and backline will be supplies – drumkit, cymbal kit, 2 x guitar amps, 4 x mic/stands and 1 x bass amp. All other backline must be supplies by the artist as well as instruments.
9. This is an alcohol and drug free event.
10. At least one song on the day is to be original. Each artist will be allocated a 15min set time.
11. The judge’s decision is final.
12. Artists will be selected from their mp3 or video link which should be supplied upon application. Artists links can be a link to a YouTube or Social Media recording/video, Dropbox etc. or any other recording of your music (partial or full) that is accessible via link. Closing date to send in track/song is June 3.
13. Organisers take no responsibility for lost, stolen or damaged equipment. Participants indemnify the City of Parramatta Council and its agents for any actions, claims or demands of any kind resulting in personal injury, property loss or actions of band members.
14. Artists and artist members (and their parent/guardian if under 18 years) agree to allow information, photos and video taken at events and recording sessions to be used for advertising or promotional purposes.
