Diwali, Festival of Lights
Diwali, also known as Deepavali, is a cherished festival across South Asian cultures symbolising the victory of good over evil and light over darkness. Spanning five days, this “Festival of Lights” is a time for reflection, joy, and community connection. Our Diwali celebrations are designed to enhance community cohesion and encourage intercultural dialogue.
At the City of Parramatta, we believe in fostering a sense of belonging and inclusivity. Join us as we illuminate our community with the vibrant spirit of Diwali! Parramatta will shine bright with Diwali celebrations, featuring lively markets, henna tattoos, lantern-making workshops, a citywide lighting competition and a striking art installation that brings the festive spirit to life.
Get ready to witness an electrifying performance by global superstar Diljit Dosanjh, who will make history as the first-ever Indian artist to headline a Sydney stadium concert. His trailblazing new tour AURA 2025 is set to bring fans from all over to Parramatta on 26 October.
We are thrilled to invite you to a series of exciting events that will celebrate the triumph of light over darkness and bring together residents of all backgrounds in a joyful, inclusive atmosphere.
