The Sydney Metro West project is a transformative 24-kilometre underground metro line connecting Greater Parramatta and the Sydney CBD. It will double rail capacity between the two centres, significantly reduce travel times, and support Sydney’s growing population and economy.

    • Trains will run every four minutes during peak.
    • All stations will be fully air-conditioned and accessible with lifts and level access between platforms and trains.
    • The line will connect to existing Sydney Trains, light rail and ferry services.
  • Economic and Population Growth

    The Metro West corridor will help support:

    • An estimated 420,000 new residents over the next 20 years
    • Over 300,000 new jobs by 2036

 

Parramatta Metro Station

Parramatta Station will be located north of the existing Parramatta Train Station, within the block bounded by George, Macquarie, Church, and Smith streets. An entrance is proposed on Horwood Place, helping integrate the new metro line with key precincts in the city centre.
