Right at the centre of a rapidly growing city, PARKROYAL Parramatta continues to play a defining role in welcoming visitors to Parramatta. Long recognised as one of the city’s premium hotels, PARKROYAL Parramatta sits at the intersection of business travel, major events and a visitor economy that’s expanding fast.

Meet Hotel Manager Hans Joachim and discover how Parramatta’s growth, infrastructure investment and cultural attractions are creating new opportunities for business and leisure travellers alike.

At the Heart of a Growing Destination

From a business perspective, Parramatta’s appeal is clear. Its central location, strong corporate presence and excellent connectivity continue to drive demand for accommodation — particularly for conferences, group bookings and business travel.

“For us, Parramatta has strong corporate demand,” says Joachim. “We’re centrally located, well connected and well suited to group accommodation, which is really important for our business.”

As more companies move into Parramatta and the city strengthens its position as Western Sydney’s commercial hub, PARKROYAL Parramatta remains a trusted base for visitors coming to work, meet and stay in the city.

Infrastructure Driving Opportunity

Major cultural and infrastructure investments are reshaping Parramatta’s visitor economy and creating new momentum for hotels like PARKROYAL Parramatta.

“With the Powerhouse Museum right on our doorstep, we’re hearing visitor expectations of more than three million people,” Joachim explains. “Add CommBank Stadium, which does wonders for us on weekends, and the Riverside Theatres redevelopment, and you can really see the opportunity from a cultural perspective.”

Together, these attractions are drawing not only local visitors, but interstate travellers as well, strengthening Parramatta’s profile as a destination worth staying for.

A Visitor Economy on the Rise

Looking ahead, Joachim sees Parramatta’s visitor economy expanding even further with the opening of Western Sydney International Airport.

“The airport will really open up the Asia market for us,” he says. “Being a 24‑hour airport, it’s going to make Parramatta even more accessible to international travellers.”

Combined with Powerhouse Parramatta and the city’s growing events calendar, the next few years represent a major opportunity for hotels operating in the heart of the CBD.

Experiences That Keep Guests Coming Back

For guests staying at PARKROYAL Parramatta, the city offers no shortage of experiences. From a thriving dining scene to major sporting and cultural venues, and even a scenic ferry trip into the Sydney CBD, Parramatta offers variety, accessibility and ease.

“Definitely the dining, our fantastic stadium, and I’d love to do a round trip on the ferry to the city and back,” Joachim says when asked for must‑do experiences.

Closer to home, Parramatta Park remains a favourite, offering green space, history and a moment of calm in a fast‑growing city.

A No-Brainer for Investment

For tourism and hospitality operators considering Parramatta, Joachim’s advice is straightforward.

“It’s a no‑brainer,” he says. “The city is growing exponentially. Parramatta has one of the fastest‑growing economies in New South Wales, possibly Australia. There’s investment everywhere, hotels coming on board, attractions opening and so much more on the horizon.”

With confidence, connectivity and continued growth, PARKROYAL Parramatta remains a cornerstone of a city welcoming the world.
