PHIVE SHP: Playful Worlds: Watercolour Painting Workshop with Cameron Stead (Ages 13 - 17)

Join award-winning artist Cameron Stead for a creative watercolour workshop that incorporates collage, composition-building and experimentation. Using images from magazines and books as a starting point, you will experiment with creating new and unexpected forms, before transforming your arrangements into watercolour paintings. Cameron will lead fun warm-ups and creative exercises, introduce foundational watercolour techniques and support you through creative challenges.

No previous experience required. All materials will be provided.

Time: 10am - 12pm

What to bring: Water Bottle, Snacks for Crunch & Sip and Lunch

• This workshop is suitable for children aged 13 - 17 years only - Council reserves the right to remove any bookings that are made outside of this age group
• This workshop is FREE however registrations are essential and places are limited
• Please arrive 10 minutes before the start time to allow for registration. Participants who arrive more than 10 minutes after the start time may have their place forfeited.
• If you can no longer attend, please cancel your ticket or contact PHIVEtickets@cityofparramatta.nsw.gov.au for assistance - Continuous "No shows" may lose their spaces in other programs booked

About Cameron
Cameron Stead is a visual artist and educator based on Gadigal Country, whose practice spans painting, drawing and collage. Cameron enjoys working with communities and has led creative workshops and engagement programs across Greater Sydney, including at the Art Gallery of NSW, the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia and the Sydney Opera House. He teaches watercolour at PHIVE and Yarra Community Centre and is the 2017 winner of the Kilgour Prize, and a 2020–21 Waverly Studios Artist in Residence.
