A city’s identity is written in its streets, come read between the lines.

Step into Parramatta Square, one of Sydney’s most vibrant urban spaces, and uncover the contemporary art that shapes its character and community. From immersive digital works and towering sculptures to subtle gestures tucked into architectural details, this free walking tour reveals a cultural precinct rich with creativity, memory, and meaning.

Guided by our expert facilitators, you’ll explore both the interior of PHIVE and the surrounding Square, where art and architecture merge in bold and surprising ways. Encounter works by iconic Australian artists like Michael Johnson, Yioryios Papayioryiou, Abdullah M.I. Syed, and Reko Rennie, alongside rising local voices who draw inspiration from the people and places of Parramatta.

Along the way, discover sculptural installations, giant tapestries, digital installations, and curated showcases reflecting themes of migration, environment, identity, and resilience. Outside, wander through public spaces where art playfully engages with history and civic life, culminating in powerful reflections of the land and waters of Burramatta.

Whether you're a local rediscovering your city or a first-time visitor, this tour invites you to experience Parramatta through a new lens, where every artwork is a conversation, and every step reveals something new.
