Step Up for Those Doing It Tough
The Greater Sydney Vinnies Community Sleepout is your chance to take action by stepping into the shoes of someone facing homelessness, even if just for one night.
Each participant will receive a beanie, a piece of cardboard, a bread roll, and a cup of soup before choosing their spot to sleep at the venue. Before settling in for a night sleeping rough, participants can take part in our silent auction, enjoy games and activities, and explore Vinnies exhibitor stalls to learn more about homelessness and the vital work we are doing in the community. The evening will also include a special presentation with guest speakers and insights into how your support helps fund Vinnies Conferences and Services across Greater Sydney.
Why Your Support Matters
This year’s Sleepout will raise funds to support people across Greater Sydney who are at risk of or experiencing homelessness, helping break the cycle of poverty and disadvantage.
Across our region, Vinnies Metro delivers frontline support to people impacted by:
- Homelessness and housing insecurity
- Domestic and family violence
- Financial hardship
- Mental health challenges and addiction
Thanks to the hard work of our local members, volunteers, and staff, these services are already changing lives — and with your help, they can reach even more people in need.
Where Your Fundraising Goes
All funds raised from the 2025 Sleepout will directly support vital local programs across the three Central Councils:
- Sydney Central Council – Maternal Heart Conference
- Greater Western Sydney Central Council – Vinnies Support Centres and the Cumberland Vinnies Van
- Broken Bay Central Council – Woy Woy Vinnies Van and the Broken Bay Domestic Violence Fund
Every dollar stays within our region, helping to provide practical, immediate support where it’s needed most.
How you can help
Register, donate, or sponsor a participant to help us reach more people in crisis.
By taking part, you’ll not only be raising funds, you’ll be showing solidarity with those who sleep rough night after night, making tough decisions just to get by.
