How will you care for yourself and others at the end of the world?

Join us on Saturday 30 August for the third Bare Skills workshop – Healing – where participants will enter an interactive space to think about how they can maintain their physical and mental health using limited resources and botanical remedies.

Bare Skills: Healing will begin with a Smoking Ceremony and Welcome to Country from Baramadagal women Heidi Duncan and Linda Sainsbury. Dharug and Wiradjuri knowledge-holder and ethnobotanist, Kylie Colemane will then take participants through plants that are native to the Parramatta bioregion and the ways they can be used for healing.

Participants will learn about how to best treat bites, burns and abrasions with a mini First Aid demonstration with Registered Training Officers from Licenses 4 Work. This will be followed by an exploration of therapeutic scents in a perfume-making workshop from artist Justine Youssef.

Bare Skills is a new series of art and survival workshops for young people aged 14 to 25, developed by Parramatta Artists Studios and hosted every second month at PAS Granville.

It is a safe and inclusive space and people with diverse identities and abilities are welcome. The ground floor of Parramatta Artists Studios in Granville will include a kitchen, communal reflection table, two workshop spaces and a themed quiet area with a resource library.
