Caber Park
22 Clackmannan Road, Winston Hills
Caber Park is a large park located in Winston Hills. Providing ample open space for assorted activities, this park also features barbecue and picnic facilities as well as public toilets for community use. There are separate playspaces (one is fully-enclosed), a basketball half-court, cricket practice nets, as well as bookable tennis courts on the premises.
John Wearne Reserve
Farnell Avenue, Carlingford
John Wearn Reserve is a prominent park located in Carlingford. It suits a variety of user groups, including youth, with facilities such as a full-sized basketball court/multi-purpose court and skate park featuring funbox, quarter pipes, banks and grindrail. This park also features a large, safari-themed playspace with shaded main structure which is sure to impress the kids.
There are also picnic and barbecue facilities, public toilets, fitness station, and even a fully-enclosed off-leash dog park for the pooches.
Peggy Womersley Reserve
98 Felton Road, Carlingford
Peggy Womersley Reserve’s main attraction is its sporting facilities as with most of the park is taken up by its sports field, which is used for rugby union in the winter and athletics in the summer. As well as this, Peggy Womersley Reserve also features a long-jump pit.
The playspace facility has recently been upgraded to a timber-look playspace and features swing set, climbing nets, slide, balance beam, and other play activities. The pavilion has also recently received a facelift.
North Rocks Park
358z North Rocks Road, Carlingford
North Rocks Park is a large park located in Carlingford and provides many facilities for park users such as sporting fields, cricket nets, and a circuit path as well as bookable tennis courts for those athletically-inclined. As well as this, there is a district-level play space featuring slide, swings, climbing equipment, and spider rope pyramid as well as other activities. There is also picnic facilities as well as a fenced barbecue area with public toilets located nearby. Don Moore Community Centre and North Rocks Senior Citizens Centre can also be found here.
The carpark is accessible from North Rocks Road.
Lake Parramatta Reserve
28 Bourke Street, North Parramatta
Lake Parramatta Reserve is a hidden gem located in North Parramatta. Perfect for the outdoor enthusiast, the main open space area is surrounded by bushland with walking tracks suitable for a variety of accessibilities (supervised dogs on-leash are also permitted on these walking tracks). The main open space area is perfect for a picnic, with barbecue and picnic facilities available and for those who don’t feel like making or bringing their own food, there is also a café onsite.
For those looking for more, Lake Parramatta also has a designated swimming area, which is patrolled by lifeguards at certain times of the year and for an alternate water activity you have the option of renting a boat such as a pedalboat, rowboat, or kayak.
There is off-street parking and publicly-accessible toilet facilities available. There is also a playground for children to enjoy.
