Events Guidelines

Community Event Submission Guidelines


The City of Parramatta welcomes submissions from the community for local events happening within the Parramatta Local Government Area (LGA). Approved events will be promoted on the City of Parramatta website and may also be promoted on AT Parramatta, Council’s city marketing platform.


Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for promotion, events must:

  • Be open to the general public.
  • Appeal to a wide audience.
  • Be held within the Parramatta LGA or in very close proximity.
  • Include complete and accurate details: date, time, location, and contact information.
  • Be free of political agendas.
  • Not gratuitously promote a business or commercial activity.
  • Contribute positively to Parramatta’s image as a place to live, work, study, and play.
  • Inspire community engagement and attract both locals and visitors.
  • Foster community pride and represent the community accurately.
  • Avoid content that could provoke, disrupt, or endanger the community.
  • Be original and lawful, with no copyright or defamation issues.


What Will Not Be Accepted

  • Regular or recurring activities, such as weekly classes, workshops, seminars, or club meetings.
  • Events that are politically affiliated or commercially driven without broader community benefit.
  • Submissions with incomplete or inaccurate information.
  • Events that misrepresent or exclude segments of the community.


Image Requirements

  • Submit a clear and in-focus image.
  • Image dimensions must be 800px wide x 400px high.
  • Avoid using images with excessive text.


Submission Process

  • Submit your event at least five (5) working days before the event date.
  • The contact person’s name and phone number must be included and will be published for public inquiries.
  • The contact person must be the individual submitting the event.


Approval of Event Submissions

  • All submissions are subject to review, editing, and approval by the City of Parramatta’s Digital Marketing Team.
  • Council reserves the right to determine which events are listed on the City of Parramatta website and which are featured on AT Parramatta.
  • Council reserves the right to decline listing any community event that, in its reasonable opinion, may pose a reputational risk or conflict with the values and strategic objectives of the City of Parramatta.
  • Publication is not guaranteed and is at the discretion of the Digital Marketing Team.
  • Edits may be made for clarity, consistency, or accessibility.
  • The City of Parramatta is not responsible for incorrect or inaccurate information submitted by the public.
  • Publication does not imply endorsement of the event or organiser.
