Parramatta Park is an easy walk from train stations and multi-level carparks. Parramatta Park will be closed to all vehicles from 6am on Sunday 31 December 2023. There will be no parking inside the Park and a number of external parking spaces around the Park will not be available due to event operations.
Taking public transport to the event is strongly recommended. There may be significant traffic delays in the City around the Park due to road closures.
The Park is wheelchair accessible.

By Train
Westmead Station is a quick 5-minute walk via Railway Avenue and Parramatta Station is a short 12-minute walk to Parramatta Park.
Parramatta Station has rail links to most major suburban centres in Sydney and the Blue Mountains with a travel distance of just 30-minutes from Sydney CBD.
There are plenty of additional services operating on the Sydney Trains and NSW TrainLink networks.
By Bus
Parramatta is well served by buses to the interchange on Argyle Street, near Parramatta Station. Bus routes connect Parramatta with other Sydney destinations such as Castle Hill, Hornsby, Ryde, Strathfield and Sydney CBD. See www.transportnsw.info to plan your trip by public transport.
NB: routes may be changed due to road closures.
Public transport is the best way to get to and from the event. If you do need to drive, there is paid parking available at parking stations throughout the Parramatta CBD.
The best entry points into the Park are through the George Street gate to the east and Park Avenue (Queens Rd) to the west.
You can view all paid parking options in Parramatta here with all Council carpark offering four hours free parking on Sundays, excluding the Parramatta Square carpark.
Paid parking is also available at Westfield Parramatta.
The O’Connell Street Car Park is closed to the public on 31st December
Road closures may be actioned through the evening based on movement through the City, while a large number of parking spaces around the park will not be available due to event operations. Expect some traffic delays throughout the City and surrounding Parramatta Park.

Parking Restrictions – Sunday 31st December
There will be a number of parking restrictions in place around Parramatta on Sunday 31st December.
There will be no vehicle access into Parramatta Park on Sunday 31 December.
On street parking will be removed on:
Park Ave between Queens Rd and Railway Parade from 6am (Park side of road)
Railway Parade between Park Ave and Westmead Station from 6am (Westmead Station side of road)
Pitt St between Macquarie St and Park Avenue (Park side of road) from 6am.

WESTMEAD:
Between 8pm and 10pm increased pedestrian movements along Railway Parade, Park Avenue and Queens Parade in Westmead may result in traffic delays. Please drive carefully and take direction of Traffic Controllers and Police at all times.
PARRAMATTA
Between 8pm and 10pm increased pedestrian movements along George Street, Pitt Street and O’Connel Street in Parramatta may result in traffic delays. Please drive carefully and take direction of Traffic Controllers and Police at all times.
Pedestrian & Cycling Access Closures – Sunday 31st December
The Parramatta River cycle way between O’Connell Street Bridge and the Parramatta Park weir will be closed from 6am on event day.
Event operations for City of Parramatta’s New Years Eve 2023 will take place in and around the Park from 28 December through 3 January. Cyclists please be aware there will be changed traffic conditions during this time. Please ride carefully and follow any safety instructions. Large delivery vehicles may temporarily block the cycling and pedestrian loop when they move into position on site, please be patient during these short delays.
A small number of accessible parking spaces are provided in the parking lot at the corner of Park Avenue and Railway Avenue for your convenience during specific hours:
Availability
From 4 pm to 8:00 pm for arrival and departure. Departures can commence from 9:45 pm with an accessibility buggy to assist attendees to and from the site.
Important Notice
To accommodate the significant number of attendees during the fireworks display, all vehicles must be in the designated car park by 8:00 pm. This ensures participation in the final buggy to the event site before 8:15 pm. Return buggy services will commence from approximately 9:45 pm. Please be advised that the return buggy to the car park will only be possible once crowds have dispersed.

Are there accessible viewing areas?
The Crescent Stage will feature accessible viewing areas, marked on the event maps.
Crescent Amphitheatre:
Two accessible viewing spaces are available.
The first is at the end of the accessible ramp at the top of the Crescent, with accessible restroom nearby, located at Coronation Hill
The second is to the southern side of the stage, with accessible restrooms adjacent to the stage compound.

If you require assistance during the event, please notify event staff.
An accessible buggy will operate along a designated route to assist those with accessibility needs. Stops will be clearly signposted, and the buggy will arrive at each stop approximately every 12-15 minutes. This service will run until 8 pm.
Are there accessible toilets onsite?
Yes, accessible toilets will be within the event site.
