What happens if it rains?

Light/medium rain will not cause cancellation of the New Year’s Eve events. As public safety is one of our priorities, adverse weather forecasts of lightning storms, torrential rain and or strong winds may result in event cancellation.

How do I get a refund for my ticket?

Ticket refunds are processed within the Eventbrite website. Ticket refunds will not be processed for 'change of mind'. Follow the instructions at this link here.

How should I travel to the event?

We recommend you stay local and walk to the closest NYE event site, if walking distance is reasonable. Alternatively, public transport or rideshare apps are a good option for getting to the event without the need to drive and park. If you plan to drive, take your time and slow down around pedestrians.

Where can I park?

Parking is limited at most sites, with the closest parking spaces reserved for those with Accessible Parking Permits (APP). Accessible parking (with a displayed APP) will be available at each of the New Year's Eve locations:

  • Binalong Park – car park entrance at 197 Binalong Road, Old Toongabbie
  • Max Ruddock Reserve - local street parking available in Winston Hills
  • Dundas Park – one way lane behind 38 Yates Ave, Dundas Valley
  • Doyle Ground – parking spaces opposite 114 Macarthur Street, North Parramatta
  • George Kendall Riverside Park – car park entrance opposite 32 Broadoaks Street, Ermington
Is there public transport?

Bus is the recommended public transport option, as most sites have a bus stop within one block and there are no train stations near any of the event sites. For bus timetable information, please visit Transport NSW or contact Transport Info on 131 500.

Is there food on site?

Yes, there will be a small offering of food trucks on site. We recommend bringing a picnic basket and/or Esky with food and snacks, plus foldable chairs or a picnic rug to make a comfortable space for yourself on the grass. Limited food options will be available at the event, including ice cream and snacks. Cooking equipment, such as camping gas burners, are not permitted on site.

Is there a bar on site?

No, there will be no alcohol sales on site.

Can I bring my own food and drinks (BYO)?

Yes, you are allowed to bring your own food from home. We recommend bringing a picnic basket and/or Esky, with foldable chairs or a picnic rug to make a comfortable space for yourself on the grass. Limited food options will be available at the event, including ice cream and snacks. Cooking equipment, such as camping gas burners, are not permitted on site.

Can I bring alcohol (BYO)?

Alcohol is permitted in small amounts for people over 18. Security may ask to inspect your bags and check ID if you are bringing alcohol into the event.

Are the event sites accessible?

All event sites are on flat sporting fields. The ground cover is predominately grass, with footpaths at some sites. Considering travel distance across grass (for wheelchairs, etc.), the more-accessible sites are Northmead Reserve and Doyle Ground. If grass is not a major issue, all sites are accommodating to accessibility requirements.

Are there accessible toilets on site?

Yes, accessible toilets will be within the ticketed event sites.

What is the program?

5.00 pm – Gates open
5.55 pm – Welcome to Country

9.00 pm – Fireworks display

What other activities are there for children?

Each park has varying permanent equipment and amenities that can be utilised, such as playgrounds and basketball courts. Roving performers will perform amongst the audience throughout the evening.

What do I do if I have lost my child?

Please speak with event staff or security, within the event site or at one of the entrance stalls.

Do you have wristbands/ID for children?

Child wristbands are available at the event entrances, for parents and guardians to write their mobile number. This assists event staff and security in reuniting lost children with their parent or guardian.

Can I bring my dog?

We recommend leaving your furry family members at home if possible, as there will be a fireworks display quite close to the event site. If you live nearby, ensure you have made prior plans for your pets to be safe and secure during our 9.00 pm fireworks.
